Taxon distribution as listed in assessment
The species is widespread in the southern Hajar Mountains' wadis (Jongbloed et al. 2003) in the UAE but not confirmed for the Ru'us al-Jibal (Feulner 2011). The global range of this species is Asia-Temperate; from Turkey, Lebanon-Syria, the Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia and the UAE) and Gulf States, and east to Iran (Board of Trustees, RBG Kew 2019).

The species is found in wadis and plantations (Jongbloed et al. 2003). It is an annual up to 0.4 m in height that flowers between February and June (Jongbloed et al. 2003).
