Feulner (2011) reported this species from two localities in the Ru'us al-Jibal, at elevations of c. 250 and 800 m, both in Oman but within a few kilometres of the UAE (G.R. Feulner pers. comm. 2020). M. Jongbloed (pers. comm. 2019) mentions one record from Ras Al Khaimah; it is not known if this record is distinct from the foregoing, and/or occurs within the Ru'us al-Jibal. The global range of this species is given as from Egypt to Israel, Palestine and Jordan (Board of Trustees, RBG Kew 2019).

The species has been found in silt between rocks (M. Jongbloed pers. comm 2019). The two specimens found by Feulner (2011) were from a gravel wadi environment at 250 m and from a rocky gully at c.800 m.

This species has been reported from two localities in the Ru'us al-Jibal of Oman, with the possibility of an additional record from Ras Al Khaimah, but presence in the UAE is unconfirmed. These records represent a significant range extension from that currently known (Egypt and the southern Levant). There is no information on population size or trend, nor on threats, and the species is assessed as Data Deficient.
